I am completely open to suggestions as to another way to accomplish this. From everything I researched a reverse SSH setup is the way to accomplish this. Setting up a remote port forward is relatively straightforward when using the PuTTY utility under Windows. I tried weaved but it didn't seem to work AND I'm not a fan of the 30 minute limit. DD-WRT v24 RC7+ SSHd and SSH TCP Forwarding must be enabled under Services -> Secure Shell Remote SSH Management should be enabled as well, under Administration -> Management Setup. I'd like to remotely control the desktop of the Raspberry Pi and do so without the remote site having to make any changes to their router. I can connect the Raspberry Pi at the remote site to the local DD-WRT router (at least I'm pretty sure I get the standard looking linux prompt when I log on but have no idea how to check in the RR-WRT router that it's actually connected) but that's where I get completely lost.Įdit: The idea here is this. I *think* I have the reverse SSH working (where the Pi connects to the router running DD-WRT) as I can successfully log into the router (I followed the directions for that here. So far, I've been able to install XRDP and get that working. Once connected to the router, I would be able to access the raspberry pi via XRDP. I have been searching for several hours now for a guide as to how to configure the Raspberry Pi to initiate a reverse SSH connection to a router running DD-WRT.
